Vom Tyndall Creek ben\u00f6tige ich knapp zwei Stunden bis unterhalb des h\u00f6chsten Passes des PCT. Nach einer kurzen Zn\u00fcni-Pause nehme ich mit den zwei Youngstern Max und Charly aka &#8220;Patch&#8221; den steilen und serpentinenartigen Aufstieg in Angriff. Der Weg ist schneefrei und steinig, windet sich rechts von einem steilen Couloir in die H\u00f6he. Problemlos erreichen wir die Passh\u00f6he und geniessen die bombastische Aussicht in beide T\u00e4ler! Zugegebenermassen muss der Aufstieg bei Schnee einiges anspruchsvoller sein\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 gilt es etliche Schneefelder zu traversieren. Teilweise liegt der Schnee noch mannshoch und wenn er zu weich ist, sinkt man bis zur H\u00fcfte ein, f\u00fcr unseren Abstieg ist er noch hart genug, um vollst\u00e4ndig obenauf zu laufen und zu rutschen, gar ohne Mikrospikes oder Pickel (den ich eh nicht bei mir habe). Nebst den umliegenden Gipfeln finde ich vor allem die verschiedenen Gesteinsschichtungen interessant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wir einige einfache Fl\u00fcsschen zu queren haben. Ich gelange in ein m\u00e4rchenhaftes Waldst\u00fcck und werde am tiefsten Punkt des heutigen Tages f\u00fcrs Zmittag mit Trailmagic am Fluss \u00fcberrascht. Es folgt ein strenger und steiler Aufstieg zum Bullfrog Lake Trail, ich nehme Abschied vom PCT f\u00fcr einen Resupply \u00fcber den Kearsarge Pass. Die Wolken verst\u00e4rken die eh schon imposanten Panoramen auf die umliegenden Berge und Seen unterhalb des Trails, ich bin echt begeistert! Auf der Passh\u00f6he abgekommen lacht mir ein langer Abstieg zum Onion Valley Trailhead entgegen, ganze 900 H\u00f6henmeter liegen noch vor mir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery Da Indipendence kaum was Schlaues hergibt betreffend Grocery Store fahren wir weiter gen S\u00fcden nach Lone Pine. Nach einem heftigen Burrito beim Mexikaner schleppen wir uns f\u00fcr die \u00dcbernachtung auf den Portuguese Joe Campground, nochmal anderthalb Meilen. Die mitgebrachte Eiscr\u00e8me schmilzt schnell und das Bier bleibt nur kurz k\u00fchl, ab in die Heia!
