Zuerst geht es hoch zum Chicken Spring Lake, was ja urspr\u00fcnglich mein Tagesziel des Vortags war. Eingekesselt liegt er da, spiegelt die Felsen wieder, wundersch\u00f6n. Danach geht es der Flanke des Cirque Peak hoch bis auf etwas \u00fcber 3&#8217;500 m.\u00fc.M., zuletzt war ich auf dem Jungfraujoch so hoch, jedoch ohne schweren Rucksack\u2026 \ud83d\ude0b Ein Weilchen sp\u00e4ter betrete ich Sequoia und Kings Canyon National Park, es erwarten mich wohl einige Abenteuer da drin! An einer eher flachen Stelle erschrecke ich ob einer Bewegung links neben mir, und ich traue meinen Augen kaum: Seelenruhig trottet ein grauer Koyote neben mir her, \u00fcberholt mich, biegt auf den Trail, blickt kurz zur\u00fcck und verschwindet um die n\u00e4chste Kurve. Trail f\u00fchrt durch einen lichten Kiefernwald, kreuzt ab und zu eine Lichtung und schl\u00e4ngelt sich schliesslich einem Bach entlang. Die Meilen fliegen dahin und als die eine h\u00f6here Kuppe erreicht ist, er\u00f6ffnet sich das dahinterliegende Panorama zum Forrester Pass hin. Diesen werde ich \u00fcbermorgen traversieren, h\u00f6henm\u00e4ssig die K\u00f6nigsetappe der P\u00e4sse, zuerst steht noch die Besteigung des Mt. Whitney auf dem Programm. Deshalb kehre ich beim Whitney Creek dem PCT den R\u00fccken und begebe mich in Richtung Ranger Station, wo ich fr\u00fch mein Znacht vertilge und zu Bett gehe, um 02:45 geht der Wecker. All dies jedoch nicht ohne zuvor eine Tr\u00e4ne der R\u00fchrung zu verdr\u00fccken, denn Crabtree Meadow hat eine besondere Bedeutung f\u00fcr mich, nebst dem der Ort einfach magisch
