Als ich vom Campground starte und in Richtung Passh\u00f6he marschiere kracht\u2019s und knackt\u2019s unter mir im Unterholz, als w\u00e4re ein Waldarbeiter am Holzen, doch so fr\u00fch schon? Als es auch noch brummt und grummelt ist der Fall klar, wird ein Schwarzb\u00e4r sein. Ohne ihn gesichtet zu haben, schleiche ich mich davon\u2026 Von Walker Pass aus folgt ein steiler aber sch\u00f6ner Aufstieg. In der Ferne ist die Edwards Air Base auszumachen, wo die US-Armee experimentelle Kampfflugzeuge testet. Daneben soll der Airstrip f\u00fcr eingemottete Passagierflugzeuge sein, also solche die f\u00fcr eine gewisse Zeit in der trockenen Luft zwischengelagert werden sollen. Es geht weiter mit einem steilen und steinigen Pfad, entlang dessen ich mich mit Thomas, einem Creative Director einer renommierten Schweizer Werbeagentur unterhalte. Bei Joshua Tree Spring hole ich mir einen Liter uranhaltiges Wasser, was man ihm ansieht; am Abend werde ich im Dunkeln sch\u00f6n leuchten, ich freue mich darauf! \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure T\u00e4lern ohne Wind, es ist der heisseste Tag auf dem Trail seit Beginn. Ein brutaler Anstieg nach dem Mittagessen verlangt mir alles ab, ab und zu sehe ich Pferde vor mir. Oben angekommen folgt ein Waldst\u00fcck mit massiven Blowdowns, was nochmal viel Energie verlangt. Erst als ich im Wald mit Blick auf das darunterliegende gr\u00fcne Tal marschiere, zeichnet sich das Ende dieses anstrengenden Tags ab. Auf der Suche nach einem geeigneten Pl\u00e4tzchen auf dem Campground lerne ich zwei \u00e4ltere Gentlemen kennen, die mich zu einem Glas Wein und den \u00fcbrig gebliebenen Grilladen einladen. Nach einem spannenden Gespr\u00e4ch mit ihnen gehe ich sp\u00e4t zu Bett, morgen gilt es gem\u00fctlich die restlichen 36km nach Kennedy Meadows eventuell mit Schwumm im Kern-River zu
